Food Dehydrators
Dehydrators come in many shapes and sizes to meet your food-drying needs.
In California and Arizona, with eternal sunshine, preserving food by drying is quite effortless. You can use the full sun to dry your fruits, vegetables, herbs, fruit leathers, jerky and much more. Living in the humid parts of the country, however, is quite another matter. Even the very thin herbs will start to mold on the drying trays unless you are very careful. Food dryers might be the answer. There are 2 main kinds. Those with stackable trays and those with a rigid box and removable shelves. Some models have base-mounted fans that move hot air vertically, one has a rear-mounted fan and some have top mounted fans, while one uses convection drying with no fan at all.
