Stainless Steel Steam Juicer 

The steamer juicer works by steaming the produce to cause the cell walls to break and the juice to fall into a juice kettle which is then drained into jars or bottles.  Due to the heat and extraction method, this juice may become concentrated.   An aluminum steam juicer can be used to make concentrates, syrups, jams and jellies.   The Back to Basics steamer juicer can be used to juice foods such as:  tomatoes, berries, grapes, cherries, apricots, rhubarb, peaches, pears, strawberries, raspberries, currents, crab apples, choke cherries, huckleberries, and apples.

Fresh juicers preserve all the enzymes, and keep most of the other nutrients intact, but the juice must be consumed very soon after it is made.

The stainless steel steam juicer was invented so that one could extract the juices for canning.  While cooking most of the above fruits is not the way to preserve the most nutrients, it is a good way to prepare the produce for canning.  Tomatoes are one exception to that.  Cooked tomatoes are better than raw tomatoes for the nutrient Lycopene.  We have used our aluminum steam juicer to juice the thin watery juice from the tomatoes and then used the pulp to make spaghetti sauce and tomato sauce.  The pulp we processed through our Victoro Strainer sauce maker to remove the skins and seeds.  Using the steamer juicer was faster and a lot easier than cooking down the juice to make it thick.
